: Nolan Lem is an instrumentalist, composer and sound artist whose work reflects a broad range of influences and mediums. His music has been performed across the US and internationally including festivals in Norway, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and Finland. As a saxophonist, he has performed at Lincoln Center, Dizzy’s Coca Cola Jazz Club and the Highline Ball room in New York City. For his group, El Portal, he has composed/performed two albums, New Trophy (2012) and Slow Grind(2013) with the European Label, CAM Jazz.

Nolan has premiered his work at Columbia University, the Spencer Art Museum, University of Kansas, University of Miami (FL), and the NIME (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) Conference at the University of Michigan. He has studied at the Sibelius Academy, Eastman School, the University of Kansas and the University of Miami (FL). He holds degrees in jazz saxophone performance (BM) and Electrical Engineering (BSEE). He currently resides in New York City and studies at the Computer Music Center as an MFA candidate in Sound Arts at Columbia University
